PLEASE: Read this book IF you visit Lijiang China!!

I was in Lijiang (the book spells the town, Likiang), a UNESCO World History Site in 2008.
This book is set in this wonderful area in the 1940's, ending when the Maoist Chinese infiltrate and overtake the South in 1948 and conquer the country in 1949.
Even if you have never been to this area of the world this book is a gem. It is as close to Shangra-la as is possible. (I also read "Lost Horizon" while I stayed in Lijiang)
"Forbidden Kingdom" is an incredible verbal picture painted by a Western Man's (Russian/French) first-hand account of the changes that happened during the 1940's in the Naxi Chinese area. Written during the time when this "Silk Road" Town was the ONLY access point for outside goods to China during WWII. The Japanese held China's entire Coastal Region, WWII ended, then the Maoist infiltration came into this town.

I bought this book in the Lijiang airport, and would be surprised if it was sold outside Yunnan. That's a shame, because it's a fascinating account of a unique culture that no longer exists, at least as it did a century ago. A must for anyone visiting this area of China if you can find it.

I always enjoy the different personalities

I love how the men never have the same personalties each has his own outlook on life and is happy to have a wife. It gives the characters the time to get it on yet get to know something about the other and eventually hooks up with friends for the wives.

For me this series is worthy of 5 stars. I didn't know how to take the fact that two of Amber's husbands could be jealous. Having read all the books in the series just cement my decision to give the positive rating. The story is well written and it has even drama, sex and emotional turmoil. Ella Mansfield it a gift writer and spins a fantastic menage romance.

This is book three in the Menage of Mankind series. I really enjoyed this book. Amber was caught in a compromising situation with her twin neighbors she's forced accept the consequences and leave the community she grew up in. Sold to the highest bidders, four trillionaires she doesn't see it as a punishment she loves the idea of being to have sex. Mitchell, Leofred, Rodrigo and Gunther all agree to pool there money together to bid on her with know real women around they know that this is their chance to have children. I liked Amber right away she was not stuck up like Erin in the last book was. The sex scenes in this book was hot and I loved reading about it. This book was also well written. Although each of the books in this series don't have a lot of deep meaningful drama they are still really good. In this book two of the men Leofred and Gunther were jealous of each other and I don't think either of them realized that it could be a problem in the beginning when they wrote the contract although Leofred showed it from the first time he had sex with her. Amber knew there was conflict between the two and she had hoped that they would work it out between them. One of my favorite part was when they punished her for pleasuring herself. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

I bought this for a guinea-pig owning coworker, and read it myself. It is just adorable, full of cute pictures and pithy sentences. After reading it, I was tempted to get a guinea pig myself, which is about the highest praise one can give a pet book.

It's not just a cute picture book about cute animals and the things they can or can't do, it's a mantra, a stress releiver and a guarenteed giggle for anyone with a piggie (cavy) guiding their lives. And, oh yeah, there's some practical info on cavy care, and what to expect from their piggy, too

The kinetics of chemical reactions studies the progress of a chemical reaction taking account of pressure, temperature, catalysis, reaction components and other influencing factors. It helps with the decoding of the reaction mechanism and therefore the optimization of reaction conditions and allows scale-up and optimal reactor design. This systematic presentation covers all aspects of kinetic methods including experimental and theoretical, as well as fundamental and applied kinetic methods. The identification of dominant reaction paths, reaction intermediates and rate-determining steps allows a quantification of the effects of reaction conditions and catalyst properties, providing guidelines for catalyst optimization. In addition, the form in which the equations are presented allows for their straightforward implementation for scale-up and chemical reactor design purposes. Throughout, the methodologies given are illustrated by many examples and a glossary containing the important terms for this field rounds off the book. This book is aimed at chemistry lecturers and students, graduate students, physical chemists, chemical engineering students and lecturers, physics students and chemical engineers.

About the Author
Professor Guy B. Marin is chair of the Department of Chemical Engineering at Ghent University (Belgium). He received his PhD degree from Ghent University in 1980. He took a position of full professor in 1988 at Eindhoven University of Technology (The Netherlands) where he taught chemical reactors. In 1997 he returned to Ghent as director of the Laboratory for Chemical Technology. He co-authored more tan 300 papers in international journals. Professor Marin is editor-in-chief of 'Advances in Chemical Engineering' and co-editor of the Chemical Engineering Journal. Chemical reaction and reactor engineering in general and reaction kinetics in particular are the main leads in his research program.

Professor Gregory S. Yablonsky obtained his academic degrees from the Boreskov Institute of Catalysis (Novosibirsk, Russia). From 1995 until 2007, he worked in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, USA. Since 2007, he is working at Parks College and in the Department of Chemistry at Saint Louis University. Professor Yablonsky has been a Visiting Professor at several universities, in particular the National University of Singapore and Queen's University of Belfast (N. Ireland, UK). Since 2009, Yablonsky is a Honorary Professor of Ghent University. He has served as organizer and chairman of many international conferences on chemical kinetics, catalysis, and mathematical methods in chemical engineering. He has been involved in theoretical kinetics and heterogeneous catalysis research for over 30 years, and is author of more than 200 papers and six books.

Great Book - Should Be Read By All Electronic Enthusiasts

Very good book - It helped my grandson understand basic electronics. We built a small project together. I have been reading Charles Schuler's book since I was a young man. His books inspired me to become and electronics designer. I hope my grandson follows in my footsteps. I recently met Charles and was able to personally thank him for his work. When I went to school we used his books to study from. My name is Harry Romano. I invented the first version of the smart phone, so his book did me well. Thanks Charles.

CHUCK SCHULER IS THE BEST WRITER OF ELECTRONIC BOOKS I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. HE IS ABLE TO EXPLAIN COMPLEX ELECTRONICS CIRCUITS QUICKLY AND SIMPLY. I HAD HIM FOR AN ELECTRONICS INSTRUCTOR IN MY BS DEGREE, MS DEGREE AND TAUGHT WITH HIM AT CALIFORNIA UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA FOR AT LEAST 25 YEARS. HIS BOOKS ARE NUMBER ONE IN MY OPINION. THEY ARE EASY TO READ, HAVE EXCELLENT CIRCUIT DIAGRAMS AND ARTWORK, AND HAVE KEPT UP WITH THE ELECTRONICS WORLD. I GIVE HIM MY HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION. DR. RONALD G. DREUCCI
