Knowing this study guide makes a difference on the test

Studying hard is something I actually enjoy doing, but I don't always feel like I know what to study when it comes to taking a big test. This particular test was very important to me. I needed to do well in order to get my medical assistant certification. That little slip of paper was going to make a world of difference in the jobs I could get and the amount I would be paid so I wanted to do my best to get it the first time around. I wanted to study hard, but I didn't want to waste any time with the wrong material. I went online and found this great study guide that I was really hoping would be able to help me. The guide was great. Once I read through it, I was just sure it had all the information I needed to get through the test and pass and even do well. It went through the material I needed in a clear manner that was effective and efficient. It didn't beat around the bush in any of the sections. IT just got right down to business and allowed me to study only the things I really needed. The study guide was also helpful because it had practice tests included so I was able to see how well I was doing on the studying end just by taking a practice test. I am so thankful that I got this study guide. It made a huge difference on how I did on the test. I feel like it saved me time and it didn't even cost me that much money either!

Great Study Resource!

I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a study guide to help pass this exam. This is an amazing review book and it delivers what it promises; no fluff, straight to the point review and focuses on the information you need to pass the exam. It isn't as thorough as a text book would be, but I don't expect it to be either. This is a review book, and I feel like it does an amazingly great job being a comprehensive one. It has study tips, test taking tips and practice questions with an answer key and explanation. It even has bonus material it directs you to online. I love practice questions and this was a particularly helpful part of the book for me. After going through the practice questions in the book, I was able to see how I did and it gave me explanations for the right answers on stuff I didn't answer so well. This was hugely helpful! I could see where my knowledge was weakest and brush up on those areas. Its study tips were great and really helped me develop a plan of action for studying. It has a whole section on how to eliminate and choose the correct answers, which I found extremely helpful. I even liked the really fun idea of the $5 challenge for eliminating and choosing answers. It gave test taking a little bit of a twist I hadn't seen before. I loved the format, I travel a lot and paperbacks are always easier to carry with you and study on the go. I even grabbed the flashcards to pair with this book, and it made this an even friendlier addition to my study routine. It has a great price, a great format, bonus material and truly helped when it came time to take and pass the exam.

ARE YOU KIDDING?. Just 100 pages of notes from the average introductory counseling course.

You've got to be kidding me. $37.99 for 100 pages of COURSE NOTES. Published by PEARSON, no wonder the price is sy high. Is it ethical to set such a high price on a 100-page summary of what is already presented in the average introductory course on counseling approaches? Ask the authors. The prose varies from disorganization and repetition to undeveloped, obtuse phrases. There are virtually no tools of analysis, only summaries of the schools of thought and some comparison charts.

A must have for students pursuing a career in psychology

Developing Your Theoretical Orientation is a must have book for anyone pursuing a career in mental health. It's easy to read, informative, and has great info in a readily accessible format to help you identify your own worldview which in turn shapes your theoretical orientation. In your coursework, you'll be exposed to modalities that may resonate with you, but if they're not actually compatible with your worldview, you may find yourself leaning elsewhere. This book helps you explore your worldview and then find the orientation(s) which are compatible (to varying degrees) with how you look at things naturally. This way you're not fitting into a mold... you're finding which tools suit you best. And given that you will likely at some point have to write an essay (e.g., for applying for internship!) on your theoretical orientation, knowing this and exploring it is imperative!

I was completely awed by what God did for this young man. His testimony is mind blowing evidence of how our God heals and delivers! It's a book I couldn't put down and it has helped me so much! I had the pleasure of watching Nick Griemsmann's interview on Sid Roth and to hear his testimony live, made his book come to life even more! Defeating Mental Illness is a powerful instrument in how to attain your healing and deliverance too. The steps he presents are all biblical and most effective. This book is almost like a dictionary. It throws a million terms at you and has less supplemental information to actually help you comprehend research. I bought it for a class, but I really wish I would've saved my money. I seriously couldn't bear to read it, even when I had a test the night before. I just reviewed the terms in it and went to bed.

About the Author
Dr. Jay Liebowitz is the Distinguished Chair of Applied Business and Finance at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. He previously was the Orkand Endowed Chair of Management and Technology in the Graduate School at the University of Maryland University College (UMUC). He served as a Professor in the Carey Business School at Johns Hopkins University. He was ranked one of the top 10 knowledge management researchers/practitioners out of 11,000 worldwide, and was ranked #2 in KM Strategy worldwide according to the January 2010 Journal of Knowledge Management.

Prior to joining Hopkins, Dr. Liebowitz was the first Knowledge Management Officer at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Before NASA, Dr. Liebowitz was the Robert W. Deutsch Distinguished Professor of Information Systems at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, Professor of Management Science at George Washington University, and Chair of Artificial Intelligence at the U.S. Army War College.

Dr. Liebowitz is the Founding Editor-in-Chief of Expert Systems With Applications: An International Journal (published by Elsevier), which is ranked #1 worldwide for AI journals according to the h5 index of Google Scholar journal rankings (as of November 26, 2014). He is a Fulbright Scholar, IEEE-USA Federal Communications Commission Executive Fellow, and Computer Educator of the Year (International Association for Computer Information Systems). He has published over 40 books and a myriad of journal articles on knowledge management, analytics, intelligent systems, and IT management. As of January 2014, Dr. Liebowitz served as the Editor-in-Chief of Procedia-CS (Elsevier). He is also the Series Book Editor of the new Data Analytics book series (Taylor & Francis). In October 2011, the International Association for Computer Information Systems named the “Jay Liebowitz Outstanding Student Research Award” for the best student research paper at the IACIS Annual Conference. He has lectured and consulted worldwide.
